Sauna Construction Handbook - Why I Wrote It?

When I first started researching saunas back in 2020, I looked everywhere for information. The internet is full of forums and internet groups, dedicated to saunas, there are also few valuable blogs and even few books. Some of this information is from sauna vendors, who just want you to buy their saunas. A lot of information was superficial - it did not explore building science. It also did not explain properly what makes a good sauna. It was just general info.

What I found, that there isn't a single source for practical knowledge, that would combine technical information and a practical approach. This caused me to design the very first sauna, with lots of detail. The design was initially just for my Dad - to give them a clear plan to follow with his sauna's build.

The first design was a hit. It even was recognized in a design competition in Katowice, Poland in 2021. Then, I developed more designs, with the first design as a template to follow. Since that time, the designs have helped lots of people to build their saunas. It actually makes me really happy to think what an impact it had.

An idea to write a 'Sauna Construction Handbook' was not with me from the start. After the very first day of working on the sauna Tuula build, I wrote down what we did, how we did it, and what we could improve on. These notes became crucial to remember all the details.

About a year ago, I started to combine all those notes into a "how to build a sauna" guide. Initially it was just for myself, to keep the information organized. Over winter, when I usually stay inside more and do more work, I improved and added to it quite a lot.

Eventually, It became clear to me that this could be a great help to people who prefer a low cost, condensed information about building a sauna. I decided to make an actual E-Book.

The e-book is a resource I wish I had back in the day, when I first started researching saunas.

I'm sure it will be useful to anybody who wants a well organized sauna knowledge, presented nicely in one place.
